Career Counselling Approach

I specialize in counselling with women with diverse racial and cultural identities to support you with prioritizing your mental health in the workplace, and with making choices with your career and finances from a place of alignment with your core values and holistic well-being.

My practice understands the ways that social inequities such as

racism / sexism, discrimination, harassment, bullying, etc - can effect

the mental health, self-confidence and career pathways of women of color. A lot of career advice and 'strategies' out there fall short because they do not take into consideration the role of cultural values, trauma, and systemic inequities on career development.

My approach to career counselling seeks to support women of color with prioritizing their mental health and wellness in the workplace, and with making career & financial decisions from a place of alignment with core values and self-confidence, rather than from a place of conforming to inequitable workplace norms.

Some of the practices I integrate into counselling to support your mental health and career decision-making includes: Meditation, guided visualization, mindfulness practices, gentle yoga poses, creative writing, breathwork, compassionate questions, and other practices that are relevant and meaningful to the client based on their cultural / spiritual or religious background.

Through a culturally affirming and holistic lens, we explore the emotional and systemic influences that shape your relationship with work and money. This may include addressing limiting beliefs, unpacking internalized narratives, and developing practices that foster self-advocacy, confidence, and sustainable success.

Integrating holistic wellness practices with counselling can help you reconnect with your true desires and inner wisdom to guide your career & financial choices from a place of clarity.

Workplace & Career Well-Being

For women of color navigating workplace stress, burnout, and systemic barriers.

  • Managing burnout, ''imposter syndrome'' / self-doubt, perfectionism

  • Setting and maintaining boundaries in professional spaces

  • Processing microaggressions, discrimination, and systemic inequities

  • Exploring the intersection of mental health, career, and identity

  • Process workplace and career experiences  – Address self-doubt and unpack the impact of discrimination, microaggressions, and systemic biases without feeling like you have to explain or justify your experiences.

  • Shift from self-blame to self-trust – Reframe ‘imposter syndrome’ by recognizing systemic barriers rather than internalizing them, so you can step into your confidence with clarity and self-compassion.

  • Set boundaries that honor your worth – Learn how to advocate for yourself in ways that feel safe, authentic, and aligned with your values.

  • Find your voice and own your power – Navigate workplace dynamics, speak up with confidence, and release the pressure to shrink yourself to fit into spaces not built with you in mind.

  • Use mind-body tools to stay connected with your body, feelings and true desires – Incorporate mindfulness, breathwork, creative writing, and gentle movement to release stress, reconnect with your strengths, and move through challenges with greater ease.

Financial Wellness & Money Beliefs

Our relationship with money is deeply shaped by lived experiences, cultural messages, and systemic barriers.

Many women of color carry financial narratives rooted in generational experiences, survival-based mindsets, and societal expectations—often leading to stress, guilt, or fear around money.

Through counselling, we explore these patterns with compassion and awareness, helping you move toward financial decisions that align with your values, career goals, and overall well-being.

  • Unpack how social-cultural messages and expectations impact financial beliefs, mindset, emotions and choices.

  • Aligning money decisions with personal values, career goals, and your holistic mind-body-spirit well-being.

  • Addressing scarcity beliefs and experiences, generational financial narratives, and financial empowerment
